Summer chic

summer chic

Long, beautiful days filled with sunshine, warmth, clear blue skies and memories-to-be-made is among us, which can only mean one thing: summer has finally decided to join us. And I couldn’t be more happier!
Despite the pretty temperatures we’re enjoying now, it won’t take long till the season is in full force and the sun becomes scorching hot, so I’ve made it my personal “mission” to try to find stylish outfits suitable for hot weather that make somewhat of a statement without being too loud. These are my six favourite pieces for a chic yet effortless summer, all of which can be worn day or night:

The perfect summer starts with the perfect dress

Huge thanks to PB&J Boutique for sending me this lovely dress from Free People clothing!
It’s a a lovely casual dress, soft and easy to wear, especially in the summer time when most of us tend to avoid clingy fabrics. Big plus for keeping me cool in the heat, but what I love most about this dress is the gorgeous color and the pretty beads and sequins sewn onto the fabric!

I love clothes that have little nice details that set them apart from being just plain and boring:)

Hope everyone is having a great week so far!

I salute you, dear summer

I love summer for so many reasons: the sunshine, the long days, the smells of fresh everything, the endless blue sky, the easy breezy clothes, the sandals, the sun on my body, the holiday, the beach, the salty taste of seawater in my mouth and the feel of sand between my toes, the ice cream and the delicious taste of cold watermelon, the warm nights, the sun kissed skin, the barbeques, the trips, the beachy hair, the not caring and going crazy, the colors, the blooming flowers, the swimsuits, and arghhhhhh, I could go on like this forever!
However, there are two aspects of this season that make me anxious about its coming every year: the seaside and the ‘carefree’ dresses, so to say. I love seeing girls in dresses at any time of the year but I feel like summer makes the whole thing more romantic. Perhaps because of the sheer, light fabrics: chiffon…lace…silk? Or perhaps I just stared too much at the Elie Saab spring 2012 couture collection. Sadly, his creations are way out of my price range, but a girl can always dream, and that is exactly what I plan to do while in my colorful asymmetric dress. That and some ice cream devouring, thank you very much.

There aren’t many things that excite me more than a beautiful image. As an avid internet user (as I’m sure everyone reading this is), I have a huge inspiration folder of images I have collected over the years that I update as soon as I see anything I love. Some of the pictures are vintage photos, some show attractive people, eye catching details, beautiful places, things I desire, quotes I like or lovely houses, and the list goes on.
I selected here a few of my favorite images this week to share them with you guys and hopefully give you some inspiration as well…
Love how each one of these photos makes me dream and fills me with joy!

Jaw dropping

jaw dropping

…in every single way I can imagine.
Found this last night while going through Stockholm Streetstyle’s archive and my jaw literally dropped when I saw it. Gorgeous photo of a gorgeous woman in a gorgeous dress, gorgeously styled with those gorgeous black shoes and a gorgeous vintage bag (I suppose). This isn’t the first time I’ve mentioned my endless love for Ulyana on this blog and you probably all know that I would kill for her wardrobe-shoes included, but after seeing this, I kept thinking if I could pull her look off.
And the answer is probably no.
She is unique.
In every way.
A way that no one can emulate.
Still, a girl can dream, right?:)

How do you like Ulyana in this dress?

P.S. Absurdly supposing I could get my hands on such divine clothes, obviously I wouldn’t have any place to wear them. Ah, the joys of enduring a mere mortal’s boring life! <3

One sunny Tuesday, 6 fabulous girls got together at a fabulous place called Joie de vivre-Salon du The, where flowers grow in huge teacups, walls are pink and brunch tastes like you’re invited to the Queen’s house. There were mint lemonades, the most delicious berries cake I have ever eaten, chocolate cookies, creamy cheesecake, chocolate tarts and fresh fruits; a delicious feast guaranteed to blow your mind. Or at least your taste buds.
Then there was laughter. And we played Dixit, a fabulous game powered by imagination…which of course, I lost.

Fabulous I’m telling you!
But you don’t have to believe me, check it out yourself: N.Paulescu nr 61, sector 5, Bucuresti.

Bisous!

Today was one of those days…

…where I wish I could stay in bed with a pillow over my head and keep the world at bay.
But since I, like most people that aren’t Paris Hilton, don’t bear the gravitational burden of having the entire universe revolve around me, the next best thing I could do to boost my mood was to dress myself nicely, grab a big cup of coffee (and maybe have breakfast) and head out for the day.
I wore this Primark dress (which is actually a very tight bodycon dress) that I decided to get about 2 sizes bigger than what I usually wear. I thought it would be a better idea to get a larger one since I very rarely wear ridiculously tight or revealing clothing during daytime. This way i could get more wear out of it, as opposed to a very fitted sexy dress I might only wear once. Not much of a night partier myself, I’m more of a daytime person…

Off to take a shower and catch some sleep!
Nighty night!

Somn usor!

EN: I’m a firm believer that the most important thing when getting dressed is to be aware of your body shape.
Dressing for your body type is crucial, therefore the first and the most important thing before buying clothes is to know your own body type and choose clothes that flatter it.
Okkkkk then.
Having said that, please acknowledge that I’m wearing a dress that does absolutely nothing for my figure. Don’t I sound more credible now? Thought so.
I’m not sure why I do this sort of things, I just happen to see pretty clothes looking good on hangers, I like, I don’t think and I buy. The only problem is that clothes are meant to look great on bodies, not hangers. And this particular dress would be a brilliant choice for an apple shape, which I’m definitely NOT! Anyway, even though it looks like a striped shapeless sack on me, I do like it. It’s just that I look better in fitted (not tight) clothes which accentuate my waist.
And I’m a big whiner.
Hugs accepted.

Gotta go, nasty exam coming up today. Wish me luck!!!

Mi-a luat cativa ani sa inteleg chestia asta si inca am dubii in ceea ce priveste structura corpului meu.
Insa. Acestea fiind spuse, hai sa va demonstrez in ce hal imi bubuie capu’.
In fine, imi place oricum.
Bagati pupici. Consolare accepted.

Am fugit, in cateva ore am examen. Tineti-mi pumnii!!!

A little something to cheer us up :)

EN: While cutting my hair short was the best thing I ever did for my hair, I’m starting to get a bit bored with my current ‘do. I’m seriously contemplating growing my hair out again so that I may have more styling options and possibly a change of color? I’m not sure yet which direction I want to go but I was thinking a sort of bob, or some kind of asymmetrical hair but with front bangs…
Anyway, point is that no matter what i choose, it has to be low maintenance. Basically that’s why i cut my hair short in the first place, because I don’t like paying too much attention to it and I hate using those fancy-shmancy smelling hair products. I don’t even use conditioner, for that matter…

Ok, now onto the outfit! As I told you in my previous post, this is something I wore last weekend for lunch and some shopping with my mom. I got these pink River Island pants recently for a great price after debating myself if I should get them in red, pink or black. In the end i settled for pink but I have to admit that this color is kind of hard to style. At first I thought “no biggie” when I got them because I played with this color before and I love neons but these pants have proved to be a bit trickier than I expected. So I just decided to go the easy way and pair them with a t-shirt, my trusty leather jacket and my big Zara bag. I think I need to put this bag away, I’ve been wearing it at least 5 times a week! I just love it that is big and it fits everything no matter what kind of crap I put in there.
Also, I would like to point out that River Island does the most comfortable 6 inch heels on the high street market. Period.

Punct.
